July 01, 2010

Just a few notes about Our growth for this year has been phenomenal and itís due to our readers who return to our site and refer our site to others. For that we say Thank you, Thank you.

It is an honor to provide you with great information. In June we had 66,754 visitors from 167 countries with 102,388 pages that were read.

In the website industry surpassing 100,000 pages in a month is a benchmark that many wish for but few sites actually achieve such a goal. Out of the millions of websites out there, according to the Alexa report there are only 512,972 sites that get a higher traffic count than does everyday-wisdom. We are thankful to you, our faithful readers, for the time you take to visit our site.

As we all celebrate the 4th of July this year, letís take time to remember all of those who have sacrificed so much for us to live in such a great country. If you see an active duty military person any time this month, stop them and tell them thanks for their service. Yes it will mean a lot to them.

Our founding Fathers created a system of government that has lasted for more than 200 years allowing this nation to be the best nation in the world to live in. However, in the past few decades our politicians have set themselves up as kings and queens in their own little kingdom. We believe that it is time that our leaders take the time to listen to we the people who they represent. It is time to renew those who choose not to listen to the voices of so many.

Some humor to start the month off right.

    How Government Works

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said,
    - "Someone may steal from it at night."
So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job. Then Congress said,
    - "How does the watchman do his job without instruction?"
So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies. Then Congress said,
    - "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?"
So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One to do the studies and one to write the reports. Then Congress said,
    - "How are these people going to get paid?"
So they created the following positions, a time keeper, and a payroll officer, then hired two people. Then Congress said,
    - "Who will be accountable for all of these people?"
So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary. Then Congress said,
    - "We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $18,000 over budget, we must cutback overall cost."
So they laid off the night watchman.

Our wisdom quote of the month.

"No bought potpourri is so pleasant as that made from oneís own garden, for the petals of the flowers one has gathered at home hold the sunshine and memories of summer, and of past summers only the sunny days should be remembered." - Eleanor Sinclair-Rhode
