February is here again… and after watching the weather reports, we know without a doubt, winter weather is plaguing most of our nation. We hope you will stay inside, stay warm, fix some hot chocolate and enjoy this newsletter.
For those of you who enjoy the winter, its time to break out the skates, ski’s, snowmobiles, shovels and sleds. (Well, maybe not the shovels!!!!)
It's time to hit the slopes and have some fun. It is time to make a magical snowman and have snowball fights. As for me, I think I will stay in where it’s warm and plan my summer vacation to the beach. Aahhh, sun, surf, sand and suntan lotion. Now that’s the life for me.
Well Super bowl Sunday has stirred a lot of thoughts on the morality of our country. The scandal of under inflated balls to give an advantage to help win seems to be acceptable by most. Not saying that this doesn’t happen
on a regular basis in form or another. Back in the day we would leave doors unlocked, keys in the cars, bicycles out by the front fence. People trusted and respected each others property. In today’s world we carry concealed weapons, have security alarms, motion sensors, tracking devices just to feel like we are some what safe. It all comes down to what we have been taught from our parents and peers. Its ok to cheat as long as everyone else is cheating. Let’s go back to playing by the same rules for everyone.
We are always open for ideas, suggestions, and comments and if you'd like to submit an article or two, please do so on our "submit an article" page. Some humor to start the month off right.
A unit of soldiers was marching a long dusty march across the rolling prairie. It was a hot blistering day and the men, longing for water and rest, were impatient to reach the next town.
A rancher rode past.
"Say, friend", called out one of the men, "how far is it to the next town?"
"Oh, a matter of two miles or so, I reckon," called back the rancher. Another long hour dragged by, and another rancher was encountered.
"How far to the next town?" the men asked him eagerly.
"Oh, a good two miles."
A nearly half hour longer of marching, and then a third rancher. "Hey, how far's the next town?"
"Not far," was the encouraging answer, "only about two miles."
"Well," sighed the optimistic sergeant, "thank God, we're holding our own, anyhow!"
