Collecting Limoges Porcelain

The Limoges porcelain sought by collectors today was actually produced by a number of factories in the Limoges region of France from the late 1700s until around 1930.

Many collectors don't realize that Limoges is a region in France rather than the name of a factory. The Limoges porcelain found most often by collectors in antique malls and shops these days largely represents the American version of early Limoges, with Haviland being a prominent name. If you are thinking about starting a collection of Limoges porcelain, we suggest you choose a book or two from the listing below to learn about their marks and value. The more you know about this fine porcelain the better collector you will become.
