A Beginner's Guide To Creating Content For Your Website

How to start adding or creating content for your website is a question we have to ask once we have decided on building a website. Content is the key to building pages that will draw search engines and people to your site. If you are building a website to generate income, the name of the game is getting more traffic to your site and to have more return visitors.

Start creating content by writing down the information you want to share with others. Do some research on the topic and see what others are saying about it. You can assimilate knowledge and add it to your information. However, if you want traffic to your site do not just copy the article from another website and paste it into your site. The search engines will find this, count it as duplicate content and send the visitor to the page that has the better page rank. Your time and effort will have been wasted! Instead, rewrite the information, adding even more information if possible to make the page better for the readers. When it comes to creating content, putting it in your own "voice" makes it more interesting to your readers and gives your site a more personal touch.

Creating content with keywords is important for the search engines; this is how they direct traffic to your site. How do you find out what keywords are best when creating content? Sometimes it is by pure luck in how you have written the article. We have an example of this. We have a few tips on bowling. We are not exactly sure of the precise words that the search engines like in those tips, but every month we get numerous visits brought to our site from the various search engines.

The website host we use, Site Build It, has a feature that when you are creating content it tells you the keywords you need. Also, it analyzes your new page before it is built to let you know if you have too many or too few keywords in your article, both of which, as stated above, is important when it comes to the search engines.

In "Site Build It" (our website host), you can also do a search for words that have high demand with few articles with those words appearing in them, which means less competition. For example, if you have a keyword that is searched for 5,000 times a day and there are 25,000 sites to find those keywords the supply is high. However, if you have 25,000 people searching for your keywords and there are only 5,000 articles in which they appear then the demand is high, which means visitors are more likely to find your site.

Creating content and writing articles can either be a joy or it can become a nightmare. It all depends on your skills. If you enjoy creative writing then this is right up your alley. If writing is not your best talent then you may want to consider using a private label article provider to help you create content. There are also sources that will write articles for you. You provide them information such as the topic for the article, how many words it should contain, and whether you want specific keywords placed into the article. For just a few dollars and typically within just a few days you should receive a fresh, new article ready to add to your website.

Unique content is very important for the search engines that are ranking your pages. You may be wondering how one is to know if their content is unique. If you are the only author and all of your information is in your own words then you should have nothing to worry about. However, if you have copied information and have only changed some of the wording, it is a very good idea to use some type of program that can check the article for uniqueness. To be on the safe side and to avoid plagiarism, we use a program called Secret Article Converter. We write our articles, upload them into the program, and it tells us whether the article is unique or if it contains duplicated material. It does this by searching the internet in just seconds for duplicate content. If it finds the same phrases, full sentences, or even full paragraphs appearing in other articles elsewhere on the internet, it will let you know. You then have the option of rewriting those portions of the article or not using it at all. Their service is very reasonable and worth every penny to insure that you have unique content. Building a website is a business, therefore you must invest in it to build a quality site.

How big do you want your website to be? If you take your time and just add one page a week at the end of the year you will have a website that will have 50 pages. You do get to schedule your self two weeks off for vacations. Be consistent with adding pages, and at the end of a year, you will be amazed at how many pages you have added. Once you have mastered adding content, building your website becomes less arduous and more enjoyable.

If you haven't had the opportunity to read a short story called The Daffodil Principal (found on our website), you should take a few minutes to read this very inspiring story. You will then understand the concept of investing time and effort into something you feel is worthwhile. By following this principal to build your website, you will be richly rewarded with a real sense of accomplishment! The next step is up to you!
