Dealing with Poison Ivy.

by Tina Camara
(ma.)

My Grandma - one smart lady!

My Grandma - one smart lady!

The war started when I was very young and Poison Ivy was the enemy! Calamine lotion covered me in a pretty, little girl shade of pink. Grandma laughed and told me to wash-off all that pretty pink goop. I protested - even though the "goop",did nothing to stop the itching and spreading of enemy troops. After a few minutes of this protest, I did as Grandma said - {as I always did} and cried for sweet relief! Grandma gave me a dixie cup, telling me to "wee-wee" in it and bring it to her. Again The protest, then following her command. I brought her the filled cup and with another, more forceful protest, finally let her dab it on the Poison Ivy. Voila...no more itching and spreading! The enemy was defeated - dried-up and gone in 48 hours! Thanks Grandma!
