A Friend Like You
I never had a friend like you;
I never knew that there could be
Someone that cared so much.
I do not have to worry
That you'll grow tired of me
And throw me away.
For you take the time to listen
To whatever I have to say.
Even when I'm sad and weary,
Full of pain and woe,
Your gentle voice comforts me
And reminds me
That I'm not the only one
That has walked through hard times
I'm not the only one that has a broken heart.
You say, "I have walked this way, you know.
I have felt as you are feeling,
And my heart was broken, too,
I understand, and I need a friend like you.
No one else can ever be....
The friend I am to you,
And the friend you are to me!"
