An Evolving Dream
A little girl had a dream
Though it wasn't about being on a sporting team.
The little girl wanted change.
This massive dream would take her far from her home range.
Though it had never been done before,
Women through out the ages paved a way for her.
This dream flowing through her veins,
After each put down, still remains.
This little girl wanted to be one of the great Presidents.
President of the good old U.S.A
Someone who wanted to start today.
Where is this little girl? Some may ask
Has she tended to her task?
She is now a ruler and will ever be.
A ruler over my sisters and me.
Where will she be in the future?
Will she hold the key,
To our downward falling economy?
She is a mother now and will forever be.
She is where she belongs, I guarantee.
Many have but one dream.
This is a disappointing scheme.
Have a dream to follow,
But if it gradually leaves you hollow,
Embrace another dream, as my mother did
Evolving from when she was but a wee kid.
For now she is where she belongs,
With us, singing her lullaby songs.
