I'm Sorry
I didn't want this to happen
but we both knew it was coming.
We tried to make it work
but the wound just wasn't healing.
It's been a while
since I meant those three words.
the noun of you and me
surrounded by the meaningless verb.
I still feel the aching
and I miss you every second
but it's what needs to happen.
this loves toll is taking
I'm sorry for you as well
you didn't deserve such demeanor
but all that's left is hate
growing darker and meaner
I love you very much
and I mean it, I do.
It's just something that had to happen
there's space needed between me and you
