Mind Games
Like nails on a chalkboard,
the memories replay in my head,
driving me crazy, all the hurtful things I said.
I didn't mean to hurt you,
I didn't mean to run,
something deep inside of me,
said it just couldn't be done.
My mind plays tricks on me,
and I'm not quite sure why.
One minute I want you,
then next I'm just fine.
I'm not sure if it's only because I can't have you,
that I want you to be mine.
Or if I truly long for something more,
are you the one my heart truly adores?
I can not stay, nor can I go,
why can't my heart just leave you so?
I can't explain just how I feel,
I'm not even sure if this is real.
Will I be able to look at my self tomorrow,
or will once again my heart be full of sorrow?
the thought of you confuses me,
it rattles with my brain.
Am I to spend forever going insane?
