The Tree
The tree they planted years ago, stood tall and proud and straight. It reached up toward the highest stars, almost to heavens gate. It's beauty and its regal stance, no other tree could match And within its strong, unbending branches, wild birds eggs would hatch.
The Planters have gone home now, both deserving peaceful rest And the tree's been felled by progress The tree, that God had blessed.
