Crohns Disease Advice...
for people who have been recently diagnosed from people who have had the disease for awhile.

Crohns disease advice -- where to start? For a person recently diagnosed, there are so many questions. Their life has just taken a major turn and they haven't a clue what direction their life will go from here. Well, there are also people who have been down that same road and can help by giving their advice based on what they have experienced. That's what this page provides.

What is Crohn's Disease? Basically it's an inflammation of the digestive track primarily in the small intestine. The inflammation can get real serious and blockage can occur. There is no cure for the disease at present. Symptons include pain, cramping, some nausea, and more. It's not unusual for a person with Crohn's disease to have operations to remove an inflamed section of the small intestine.

If you're newly diagnosed, you have a lot of questions. Of course you should get your answers from your doctor. But wouldn't it be nice to get Crohns disease advice from someone who has had it for quite awhile? Of course it would. That's what this section is for.

In turn, people who have the disease can get the satisfaction of helping someone recently diagnosed. In a small way, it can help ease their pain.

Always keep this in mind - This information in no way takes away from your responsibility to work things out with your doctor(s). This is for information only and its primary function is to help you find out things you can talk with your doctor about. In no way does this information take the place of a good doctor.

Now that we've got the disclaimer out of the way, let's get started.

Note - be sure to include some of the following:

  • What about your condition has surprised you the most?

  • What have you done to help you cope with the disease? What medications have you taken? Any supplements?

  • Considering everything you've been through, what suggestions do you have for people newly diagnosed?
