Food… Our life support

We all have a favorites, there are always some we don’t like and some we just won’t try.

Social events are planned with food as the center attraction, and often times we plan what will be served for weeks ahead . Sometimes it’s as simple as “What’s for lunch?”

Whether it is a snack, or the small sample tastes that we take while preparing dinner, or sitting down to a gourmet meal, we are constantly consuming food. We know we have a choice between healthy foods and others that, while tasty, do not provide us with such a healthy lifestyle.

Food consumption is a careful balancing act, sometimes between what we want and what our bodies need. It is a known fact that if we consume too much salt, or too many sugars, we are at risk for developing high blood pressure or diabetes. Yet if we do not eat enough of the right foods we run the risk of vitamin deficiencies with added health concerns.
